In fact, flooring is an integral component that must be given proper thought when constructing a new building or conducting renovations. Perfect wood installation requires detailed run-up, which is based on preparing subfloors by levelling, dust control, increasing level of moisture, damp and sound proofing. Next step is to choose the right method of fitting and Wood Flooring are a helping hand, no matter if it comes to engineered or solid wood, parquet or laminate. Details such as door frames trimming are often neglected, but we always pay attention to details.

Before starting with installation of the planks, there are few tasks we work on. If your idea of what we do is, that we only lay timbers – you’re wrong! Our first job is cleaning dusty subfloor properly, since dust can create an uneven surface and cause unsteady flooring. Dust also can react to the adhesive thereafter, which is a problem for the upcoming fitting service. Although we use advanced dust free systems and equipment, we think in advance and protect further other rooms and furniture.

Another important step in the whole process, checking moisture level is a must, especially with the humid weather in Singapore. Moisture damage can be reduced, it only takes clean and dry subfloor and installation of dump-proof membrane, pipes in good condition and some time for flooring itself to adjust to temperature and humidity.

When all this is done, our flooring specialists are ready to remove doors. This guarantee not only their perfect condition, also gives choice of laying flooring around the door trim, or get the door trim cut after.

Last step is to apply underlay. Underlay can have specific functions. Most commonly it creates sound insulation or solid and even base from surface, that cannot be perfectly even. Underlay is combined often with engineered wood or laminate, this type of installation called floating. That is possible, because by floating floor planks fit like puzzle pieces without gluing or nailing.

Uneven surface isn’t the only specific case. Some subfloors have running pipes below. Here we lay wooden planks by gluing with wood floor adhesive. This method is suitable also for parquet and pattern flooring.

Nailing is another option and it’s as effective as gluing. In certain situations, hardwood is with thickness of about ¾ of an inch and nailing-down is the best possibility.
